In the Footsteps of Lord Buddha
Places to See : Delhi -Agra-Varanasi (Sarnath)- - Bodhgaya - (Rajgir)

Duration : 13 Nights / 14 Days
Day 01 : Arrive Delhi
On arrival meet at the airport and transfer to hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
Day02 : Delhi - Agra (apprx. 4-5 Hrs)
Morning proceed for the visit Old & New Delhi and visit Red Fort, Jama Masjid,
Raj Ghat, India Gate, President House, Parliament House, Qutab Minar,Lotus Temple
etc. Afternoon drive to Agra and check-in at Hotel. Overnight Hotel.
Day 03 : Agra - Varanasi (Train)
Breakfast at Hotel. Proceed for the city tour and visit Taj Mahal & Agra
Fort. Evening transfer to Railway station in time to connect train to Varanasi.
Overnight Train.
Day 04 : Arrive - Varanasi
Arrive Varanasi. Met on arrival and transfer to Hotel. Afternoon excursion to
Sarnath - here Lord Buddha preached his first sermon to his five disciple after
he attained enlightenment at Bodhgaya. Here visit Dhamukh Stupa, Ashok Pillar,
Chowkhandi Stupa, Mulagandha Kuti Vihar. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 05 : Varanasi
Early morning during sunrise boat ride on Ganges followed by city tour of Varanasi
visit various Ghats and Temples on the bank of river Ganges. Afternoon free
for independent activities/Shopping Banarsi Sarees. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 06 : Varanasi - Bodhgaya (apprx. 6-7 Hrs)
Morning drive to Bodhgaya - it is a place with Lord Budhha attained enlightenment.
On arrival check in to hotel. Afternoon free.
Overnight at Hotel.
Day 07 : Bodhgaya
Full day city tour of Bodhgaya visit Bodhi tree, Mahabodhi Temple- which marks
the spot where Buddha gained enlightenment and set out on his life of preaching,
Monasteries, Magadh university etc. Overnight at hotel.
Day 08 : Bodhgaya - Rajgir - Nalanda - Patna (apprx. 6-7 Hrs)
Morning drive to Patna. Enroute visit Rajgir -Buddha spent 12 years and the
first Buddha council after Buddha attained nirvana was held here. Nalanda is
just 19 Kms from Rajgir, Founded in 5th century BC, was one of the world's great
universities and an important Buddhist center until its sacking by the Afgans
in the 12th century. A credit to the curators, the site is peaceful, clean,
well-maintained and perfumed with the scent of roses and shrubs. On arrival
check in to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 09 : Patna - Vaishali - Kushinagar (apprx. 8-9 Hrs)
Morning drive to Kushinagar - Lord Buddha is reputed to have breathed his last
words " Decay is inherent in all components things" and expired at
Kushinagar.. Enroute visit Vaishali (where Buddha preached his last sermon)
visit Ashoka pillar, Stupas, Coronation Tank, Bawan Pokhar Temple, Chaumukhi
Mahadeva etc. Arrive Kushinagar and check-in at Hotel. Evening free. O/night
Hotel.
Day 10 : Kushinagar - Lumbini (apprx. 4-5 Hrs)
Morning visit Kushinagar - Visit cremation stupa, Mahaparinirvana temple and
modern IndoJapan-Sri Lanka Buddhist center.
Later drive to Lumbini in Nepal - Birth Place of Lord Buddha. On arrival check
in to hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 11 : Lumbini - Kapilavastu - Shravasti (apprx. 5-6 Hrs)
Morning visit Mayadevi Temple, Ahokan Pillar, Garden and Pond.
Later drive to Sravasti - here Lord Buddha spent 24 years and performed the
miracle of sitting on a 1000 petalled lotus and multiplying himself a million
times while fire and water came from his body. Arrive & check-in at Hotel.
Overnight at Hotel.
Day 12 : Shravasti
Morning visit Sahet - Mahet, Angulimal's cave. Afternoon drive to Lucknow in
time to connect o/nigh train for Bhopal. Overnight onboard.
Day 13 : Sravasti - Lucknow - Delhi (apprx. 4 Hrs)
Breakfast at Hotel and drive to Lucknow in time to connect Shatabdi Express
for Delhi at 1530/2140 Hrs. Met on arrival and transfer to Hotel. O/night
Day 14 : Delhi Departure.
Breakfast at Hotel. Day free. Evening enjoy Indian Folk dance show followed
by Fare well Dinner. Later transfer to Airport in time to connect flight back
home.
